William F. Cook, Sr.

William F. Cook, Sr., 68, of Pittston, passed away Monday November 11, 2024.

 

Born in Wilkes-Barre, April 21, 1956, he was the son of the late Anthony L. and Isabel Rhodes Cook.


William was a devote husband to his wife Joyce Cook, whom he was married to for 31 years. Together, they raised children: William F. Cook Jr. (Kasey), Lyndsey Washney (Mike) and Michael Washney. He was also a step-father to children: Debra, Kimberly (Mike) and Nicholas (Heather). He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, children, sisters Susan, Patricia and brother Robert and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Bill attended school in the Wilkes-Barre area. He worked for many years as a plumber and HVAC technician and enjoyed various other odd jobs. In his free time, he had a love for fishing, hunting and working on cars as a skilled mechanic.

 

Bill fought a courageous battle with cancer. His strength and resilience during his illness is an inspiration to all who knew him. He made many lifelong friends, all of whom he cherished. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication to his family and his passion for life. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 

Bill or “Pop” as many would call him, will remain in our hearts and his memory will live on through the memories and moments he shared with his family and friends.

 

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.

Joyce and family I’m so sorry for your families loss. He was a wonderful and caring person. Lots of laughs and he had great stories to share. My Neil , Brianna, Keira and Sean loved when they got to see him. He will be missed by all who knew him. ❤️
