Thomas Donald Polacheck, 83, of Exeter, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Bertha A. Baloga Polacheck.
He was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre and attended Kings College.
He was the owner/operator of Polacheck’s Market, Exeter. He also worked for Giant Market and was the Building and Grounds Supervisor for the Luzerne County Courthouse for many years. He was tax collector for Exeter Borough for 17 years and served as a councilman for Exeter Borough.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Regina C. Polacheck, brothers, Cyril and Donald, sisters, Maryann and Regina.
Surviving are his children, Karen Vavrek (Joseph), Harding, Thomas Polacheck (Cheryl), West Wyoming, Joan Vavrek (Michael), DE, Stephen Polacheck (Tracy), NC, and Susan Larose (Mark), NJ; grandchildren, Diane (Lee), Joseph, Matthew, Rachel (Chris), Jessica, Haley, Alexa, Stephen, Jonathan, and Frances, great grandchildren, Eames, Elijah, and Hannah, sister, Theresa Kozmoski, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 9am-10:30am in Parish of St. Barbara, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Interment, St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.
