Rosalia Gelso Strasser, 68, formerly of Shavertown, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021.
Born in Pittston on December 15, 1952, she was the daughter of Florence Nardone Gelso and the late Samuel Gelso.
Rosalia was a graduate of St Ann’s Academy and Boston University. She had been employed in the banking industry for many years.
Rosalia loved traveling, art, movies, and spending time with her beloved granddaughters, Julia and Claire.
In addition to her father, Rosalia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Strasser; brother, Atty. Charles Gelso; and sister-in-law, Maryanne Gelso.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her daughter, Carrie Strasser and her husband Matthew Naughton, Burlington, MA; son, Max Strasser, Quincy, MA; half-brother, Samuel Gelso, Massachusetts; granddaughters, Julia and Claire Naughton; a niece, Marjorie Gelso, Nanticoke; aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Per the family’s request, face coverings are required while in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Medical Oncology Associates Prescription Fund, 382 Pierce Street, Kingston, PA 18704.
I am so sorry to hear of Rosalie’s passing. She was a wonderful woman and boss when I worked under her leadership at FNCB in W-B. I still remember all her stories that made me laugh about her sweet mom, beloved husband, and her young children(at the time). This was 20plus years ago. God bless and comfort the family.
