Patricia Maureen Pigioni, 77, formerly of Shavertown, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, in Florence, SC after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth Shreve Bednarsky.
Patricia was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School in Plymouth and attended the Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) Public School Adult Education Program where she earned credits toward computer data entry and office procedures.
Patricia was employed as a supervisor at the Topps Chewing Gum facility in Duryea and as a final test technician at RCA Solid State Division factory in Mountaintop. More recently, she was self-employed as a professional pet groomer. Pat was also an avid amateur artist. She enjoyed painting landscapes and nature scenes. Pat studied under Sherine Ross, an artist of note in the
Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Justine and Benjamin and her granddaughter Amanda.
Surviving are her husband Russell; son, Kevin; grandson, Logan; sister, Ruth Howard; sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Pigioni) Nanni; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 15, 20121 at 10am in St, Theresa’s Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Interment to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweet Valley.
In lieu of flowers, Pat would prefer donations be made to Covenant House; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; or to EWTN (The Eternal Word Television Network).
