Born March 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Loux Tonrey, RN. She graduated from the St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA in 1947 and was the last remaining class member. In addition, she graduated from the Wyoming Seminary School of Business.

Maryanna was an active member of St. John the Evangelist church, Pittston, PA where she was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. After raising her family, Maryanna worked in the church rectory until her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward T. Ward Sr. (2002), her daughter, Joan Healey (2023) and daughter-in-law, Patricia Banos Ward (2007).

Maryanna was the cherished wife of Edward Ward and a devoted mother to her family. Surviving are daughters, devoted and loving caregiver Margaret, Pittston, and Susan Walsh (Douglas) South Abington Township, and her sons Joseph Ward (Dr. Gwen Galasso), Jenkins Township, and Edward T. Ward, Jr. (Rose), Pinehurst, NC. Also surviving is her son-in-law Patrick D. Healey, Sr. Pittston, husband of her beloved late daughter Joan Healey. Her love extended beyond her children to her cherished grandsons: Sean Healey (Courtney), Malvern, Patrick D. Healey, Jr. (Marissa), Dallas, Edward T. Ward, III (Rochelle), Sewell, NJ and Casey Ward (Ashley), Castle Hayne, NC. She also embraced her step-grandsons Ian Kline, Brooklyn, NY, Cameron Kline, York, and Connor Kline, York, with open arms. Her family continued to grow with her great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored: Weston, Ella, Grace and Everett Healey, Dublin, Finley, Hugh, Callen, and Maeve Ward. Maryanna was known for her gentle spirit, warmth, and beauty, both inside and out. She was a beacon of kindness and love to everyone who knew her.

Her memory will be cherished forever by her family and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her gracious and caring nature. Rest in peace, dear Maryanna. You will be missed beyond measure, but your love and light will live on in our hearts.
