Margaret Lussi

Margaret Lussi, 94, of the Old Boston Section of Jenkins Township, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. Born in the Old Boston Section of Jenkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Gino and Della Nardone Castellani.

Margaret was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School and had worked in the local garment industry.


She was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston and its Altar and Rosary Society. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and will be truly missed.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver “Chockie” Lussi; brothers, Eugene Casterline and Patrick Castellani; and sister, Jeanette Blossi.


Surviving are daughters, Janet Matthews and her husband William, Pittsburgh and Rita Lombardo and her husband William,

Pittston Township; grandchildren, Elizabeth Akanowicz and her husband Jon; Michael Matthews and his wife Deborah; William Lombardo, Jr.; Joseph Lombardo and his wife Ashley; Olivia Lombardo; and Benjamin Lombardo; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment, Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Marello Parish or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
