Jule Ann “Julie” Plishka, of Old Forge, passed away while surrounded by her family, Monday, September 12, 2022, in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was 79.
Born in Hughestown, Julie was the daughter of the late James Vincent and Julia Terry.
She graduated from Hughestown High School and had worked as a beautician, and later as a telephone operator at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. However, her real profession was being the touchstone for her family where she was a wife, mother, daughter, friend, teacher, doctor, psychologist, chef, stylist, decorator, and CEO. Those who knew her can attest to her kindness, generosity, and wisdom, and will always miss the joy she brought to the world.
In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob, her sister, Shirley Craig and brother-in-law, James Craig.
Surviving are her daughter, Dianne (Duane) Schick, Pittsburgh; son, Robert; grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Schick on whom she doted; nephew Robert (Becky) Craig, New Philadelphia, Ohio; uncle John Delmonte, Pittston; great niece, Shelby (Adam) Davis and great nephew, Sean (Michelle) Craig.
The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 9am-9:45am in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment, Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
