Helen Elbich, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away at home Monday, September 21, 2020. Born in Konopki, Poland on May 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Jadwiga Krukowska Sznela.
Helen attended Business School in Poland and came to the United States in 1959.
She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.
In addition to her parents and brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband
Peter Elbich.
Surviving are her son, George Elbich, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Elaine Elbich and
her husband Peter Berthold, Wayne, PA and Paula Weinberg and her husband
Gregg, Annapolis, MD; 5 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, September 25, 2020, from
10:30am to 11:30am, following CDC guidelines of wearing a face covering and
maintaining social distance, in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street,
Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Wilkes-Barre.
The mass will be recorded.
