Frederick C. Kurz, 82, of West Pittston, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen Gerard Kurz.
Fred was educated in the Bronx school system. He began working as a Computer Programmer at IMB in the 1960’s later working for The Salomon Brothers on Wall Street for many years and retired in 2022 from First Data (FISERV) after a long and respected career in the financial services industry. Fred was a quiet and kind man, he was very charitable and civic minded.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Kurz, his sister, Lorraine Galletta, and his brother-in-law, Stanley J. Sobolefski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Audrey Kurz, West Pittston, son Frederick Kurz III (Debra), daughter-in-law Lisa Kurz, grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley, niece, Johanna Galletta, nephews, Thomas Galletta (Mary Kate), John, Henry (Tybee), and Eric Sobolefski.
The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday March 16, 2025 from 3-5PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William St., Pittston.
