Ettore J. Lippi

Ettore J. Lippi, 101, of West Pittston passed away on Tuesday May 28,2024. 


He was preceded in death by his parents August and Lena (Fiorot) and his wife Marion L. (Hemingway) who was the love of his life, his siblings John and Joan (Ochrietor), and great-granddaughter Violet Williams.


Survived by his four sons, Torre and wife Donna of Wilkes-Barre, Mark and wife Joan of Blakeslee, Gary and wife Sharon of Carbondale and Paul and wife Debbie of Loveland, Ohio; six grandchildren Gina Williams, Louisa, Mark Angelo, Jerad, Danielle Severson and Michael; six beautiful great grandchildren, Gordy and Gabe Williams, Arlo and Inez and James and Emilia. 

 

Mr. Lippi was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary and graduated in 1943 from Cornell University with a degree in Architecture. He served in the Navy during WWII as a lieutenant.  After completing his architectural apprenticeship with firms in NYC and Wilkes-Barre, he started his own practice in Kingston. He continued working and going to the office every day until his 100th birthday.


He was a member of St. Barbara’s Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter and was a member of Pittston Kiwanis and the Fox Hill Country Club in Exeter.


He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  He was a successful architect who designed numerous homes and buildings throughout Northeastern PA, including many of the local schools.  He was a successful businessman with a charismatic personality who owned Lippi Properties in Kingston.  He particularly enjoyed family gatherings with Italian food and his favorite red wine, Opici. He was an amazing storyteller who shared his fascinating life experiences with his family.


 We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the entire staff at Wesley Village, in Pittston who provided great care for him.


Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2024,  from 5 to 8pm in  Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10am in St. Barbara’s Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial St. Exeter.  Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.  Interment will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

Gary and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so glad to have met him and be part of his birthday celebrations at the office.
