Dino Joseph Arcuri, Sr.

Dino Joseph Arcuri, Sr., beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 18, 2024. Born on January 23, 1958, in Scranton, Dino spent his formative years in West Scranton, Pennsylvania, with his loving family, now deceased, father, Michael Sr, mother, Loretta Motovidlak Arcuri, brother Michael Jr, and uncle Leo Motovidlak.

He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and received an associate degree in business from Luzerne County Community College.  During and after high school, Dino worked with his father in the family business, Arcuri Trucking.

Dino’s professional journey began with his first sales job at Falcone Beverage. He then served as the Vice President of Sales at Magee Glanz Carpet until its closure. His career continued to flourish at Romala Stone, where he worked alongside his mentor, the late Arnie Alpert. For many years, Dino made significant contributions to the granite and cabinetry business, providing his expertise to Marriott Hotels and other esteemed establishments across the country, most notably the Mandalay Bay. His final professional role was as a National Account Manager at JG Edelen Co.

Dino was an active member of his community, formerly belonging to Fox Hill Country Club where he participated in many Italian Opens and Father-Son golf tournaments. He was a dedicated volunteer at Saint Maria Goretti Church, serving as an usher for many years. Additionally, he was a longtime supporter of the Bishop Hoban (now Holy Redeemer) High School football program.

Nothing meant more to Dino than his family, Geraldine, his beloved wife, daughter, Leah, CRNP, Plains and son, Dino Jr., DPT, New York City. Also surviving, nephew, Michael Arcuri III (Lacey), Scranton.  Great times were had going on vacations, especially to the beach, watching Steelers and Penn State football games, and golf matches on tv, playing cards, and most of all times spent at his pool with family and friends.

He also found great happiness in the company of his grand dogs, Bentley, Jules, and Sky, always ready to lend a hand in their care during his retirement.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare workers who were his advocates throughout his long journey, describing them as “an extension of God’s hands.” Your support and dedication meant the world to him.

The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 4pm-6pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.  Funeral services will be Monday, July 22, 2024 at 9:45am from the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive. Laflin.  The rosary group will recite a chaplet of the rosary ½ hour before the funeral mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to St. Maria Goretti Church.
