Daniel E. Rankosky, Jr., 70, of Dupont, passed away Friday April 25, 2025 unexpectedly at home.
Born in Taylor and raised in Dupont, he was the son of Jean Melnick Rankosky and the late Daniel E. Rankosky, Sr.
Dan graduated from Pittston Area High School, class of 1972 and continued his education at Johnson School of Technology, where he studied automotive and diesel technology. He spent his career as an auto mechanic for the Pennsylvania State Police, he worked at both the Dunmore and Wyoming barracks.
Dan, took excellent care of his home and yard and was always involved with painting and maintenance projects. He also enjoyed working in his garden and on his computer.
In addition to his mother, Jean Rankosky, he is survived by his daughter, Brianne DeFreitas and her husband Ron, Garnet Valley, PA and grandson, Alek, his sister, Beverly Burne and her husband Bart, Laflin, aunt, Diana Golanoski, uncle, John Melnick and his wife, Barbara and cousins.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
