Chester T. Shimko, 79, of Pittston, passed away November 9, 2022.
Born in Duryea on December 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Andrew and Tessie Wojciehowski Shimko.
Chester was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School and had served in the US Army.
He had worked for Suburban Propane as a service technician for over 35 years.
Chester was a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Antoinette Shimko and a brother, Joseph Shimko.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Kelly Shimko; daughters, Kim Dimick, West Pittston; Celeste Gonzales, West Pittston; Theresa Serafin (Michael) , Sweet Valley; and Katie
Kelly, Pittston; sons, Chester Shimko, Jr., West Wyoming; and James Shimko (Kelly), West Pittston; 12 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; brother, Leonard Shimko (Bernadine), Harding; sister-in-law, Betty Shimko, Avoca; nieces; nephews; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 5pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 14, 2022, at 9:30am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to church Monday morning. Private interment, St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
