Joseph Louis Marcellini, 71, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient unit, Dunmore. Born in Pittston on June 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Bruno Marcellini, Sr. and Ann Marie Bicchielli Marcellini. He was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1964; a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College; and a graduate of Luzerne County Community College.
Joseph had served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes Barre after 27 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruno Marcellini, Jr.
Surviving are his aunts, Celia Bicchielli and Nicoletta Goldsworthy, West Pittston and Ida LaFratte, Pittston Township; sister-in-law, Connie Marcellinni; a nephew; nieces and many cousins. He is also survived by very dear friends, Warren and Linda Stahl and Steve Hartman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 2, 2018 at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 8:30am until the time of mass. Full Military Honors will be provided by the AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston. Entombment, Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
