Eleanor Hurrey, 69, of Hughestown, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Highland Manor, Exeter. Born in Pittston on October 3, 1947, she was the daughter of the late James and Eleanor Price Hurrey.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School. Eleanor had been employed by the former Barb’s Italian Kitchen, West Pittston and the former Sunshine Markets. Prior to her illness, she was employed by Pen-Mart, West Pittston.
Eleanor enjoyed bowling, traveling to Atlantic City, and casino trips. She was an avid Washington Redskins football fan. She will be truly missed by family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Laskowski.
Surviving are her daughter Lori Perry and her husband Tim, Scranton; brother James Hurrey, Florida; aunts Elizabeth Ankenbrand, Hughestown and Doris Evans, Swoyersville; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9am until the time of the mass. Interment, St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
