Josephine M. Mundenar, 89, of Pittston, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, in Wesley Village, Jenkins Township. Born in Scranton on December 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Pesavento) Masucci.
Mrs. Mundenar was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and had worked as a seamstress retiring from Leslie Fay. She was a member of the ILGW Union, a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston and a former member of St. Rocco’s Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Mundenar, Sr. and daughter, Christy Mundenar.
Surviving are her sons, William Mundenar, Jr. and his wife Mary, Pittston Township, and Mark Mundenar, Pittston; grandchildren, Angela Lynn, Maria Kaluzavich, Ashley, Kelsey and Jenna Mundenar; great-grandchildren, Claire and James Kaluzavich and Alex Lynn.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 4, 2017, at 10:00am from Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley Village or to St. Joseph Marello Parish.
