James R. Whispell, 68, of Dupont, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 29, 2017 at home. Born in Kingston on February 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Isaac Whispell Sr. and Reba Royer Whispell.
He attended Pittston Area High School and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a retired employee of Techneglas, Inc. as a machinist.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as brother and uncle; and he will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Isaac Jr., Joseph and Charles B. Whispell.
Surviving are his wife Tinna Shotwell Whispell. They would have celebrated 45 years of marriage on October 25, 2017. Also surviving are daughters, Tinna Sayer and her husband Scott, West Pittston; Jamie Whispell, West Pittston; and Autumn Whispell, Exeter; sons, James R. and Andrew Whispell, Dupont; sister, Reba Emil, Pittston; grandchildren, David and Austin Whispell; Jason Gilbride; Scott D, Ricky and Lora Sayer; Kaden Whispell; Dallas, Evan and Madison Whispell; great-granddaughter, Evelynn Goss; numerous nieces and nephews.
According to James’ wishes, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
