Anthony J. Manganiello, 78, of West Pittston passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scranton. Born in Swoyersville on October 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Anthony F. and Agnes (Koptcho) Manganiello.
He attended St. John’s and West Pittston schools and was a Marine Corp Reservist. Tony was a self-employed machinist and professional gunsmith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons at his cabin in Bradford County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen (Makar) and Patrick Colarusso; brother-in-law, George Colarusso.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Patricia Colarusso Manganiello, RN; son, George, Harding; daughters, Christine, Maryland; Lisa, Pittston and Amy, West Pittston; brothers-in-law, Charles Colarusso and wife Donna, Pittston and John Colarusso, Pittston; uncle-in-law, Carmen Colarusso and wife Ruth, West Pittston; aunt-in-law, Doris Vidzar, Rome, NY; nephews, Charles Colarusso and wife Jen; David Colarusso and John Colarusso; niece, Anita Rusinko; several great nieces; great nephews; and cousins.
Special thank you to Dr. Luigi Spagnolini; the staff of Linwood Nursing Home and the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart especially Tom who took such wonderful care of Tony at home as well as all of the hospice staff involved with his care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church from 9am until the time of mass. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care and Concern Ministries, 35 William Street, Pittston.
