Patricia Reed

Patricia entered into eternal sleep with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth D’Adamo Adonizio, she was born and raised in Pittston. She was a graduate of St. Ann’s Academy in Wilkes-Barre and Marywood University in Scranton, where she earned degrees in Speech Therapy & Counseling.

She worked in many facets including: speech therapist at the Kirby Health Center working with hearing impaired children and St. Ann’s Academy, her alma mater, in the elementary grades as a speech therapist. She continued her education at LCCC and Marywood for counseling and was employed at First Hospital for many years on the Intensive Care Unit.

Patricia married the love of her life, Warren, and recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. They resided in Forty Fort for many years where they raised their children, Joe and Pam. She was very active in the community serving on the Board of Pettibone Elementary School and the Forty Fort Flyers Football Association. She was a cheerleading coach for the Forty Fort Flyers and a member of the Forty Fort Business Association.

Patricia and Warren left Forty Fort in 1997 and moved to Moosic, PA. An avid golfer, she was very proud of her 2 hole-in-ones at Glenmaura National Golf Club. She was a member of the Glenmaura Social Committee and Women’s Golf Association where she served as President in 2005. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish.

Patricia’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She took great pride in her husband, children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Spending time with them was of utmost importance to her and she cherished the family get-togethers during the holidays. She valued her friendships. She loved the many conversations during and after a round of golf with her friends. She was never too busy or too tired for a friend in need. She will be missed by all those whose lives she entered especially her grandchildren who will sorely miss their “Nanny”.

Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Machey. She is survived by her husband Warren, son Joseph and his wife Abigail Reed, Mountain Top; daughter Pam and her husband Philip Mahasky, Duryea; grandchildren, Makaila, Kayla, Kalli, Karli and Jackson; brother-in-law, Edward Machey, Exeter; cousins and nieces. She was also very fond of her former son-in-law, Steve Stelma, who has always been considered one of her family members.

The family of Patricia would like to thank family and friends for all of their support. Special thanks to the nurses of Hospice of the Sacred Heart: Randi, Mary Ellen, Pat and Shannon and her social worker Melissa (Missy); and to Dr. Saidman; Dr. Gibbons; and Dr. Scrobola for their compassion and support during difficult times.
