Leonard F. “Moon” Copp, 91, of Hughestown passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 in Post-Acute Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Moosic, he was the son of the late John and Mary Miller Copp.
He attended Moosic schools and served in the US Army during World War II.
He enjoyed carpentry work and had worked for the Hughestown Borough Street Department for over 26 years; most recently as the Street Commissioner. He was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Donna Copp; brother, Charles Copp; sisters Christine Chinchilla and Dorothy Angerson.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Clara Sagliocolo Copp; children, Bob Barhight and his wife Connie, Wyoming; Claire Hindmarsh and her husband Paul, Hughestown; and Lenny Copp Jr., Hughestown; daughter-in-law, Dolores Barhight, Hughestown; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 9:30am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go to the church. Interment will follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Monday, August 29, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston.
