Angelo J. Burgio, 54, of Harding formerly of Pittston passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Pittston on December 18, 1961, he was the son of the late Vincent and Joan Woodcock Burgio.
He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1979. He was a self-employed master electrician and had worked for the Department of Defense in Iraq for six years as a civilian contractor. He was a member of the Longshoreman’s Union.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He lived for his family – his wife, children and grandchildren were everything and most important to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Coles Burgio. They would have celebrated 30 years of marriage on May 8, 2016. Also surviving are son, Vincent Burgio, Harding; daughter, Samantha Burgio and her fiancé Steve Krawczuk, Pittston Township; grandchildren, Vincent Burgio and Abel Krawczuk; sister, Lisa Baehr and her husband Stephen, Manassas, VA and their daughters Rachel and Kristina.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
