Frank P. (Koobie) Licata, 63, of Pittston Township, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston on August 30, 1952, he was the son of Elizabeth (Moore) Licata, of Pittston Township and the late Charles Licata.
He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1970 and had worked as a teller in the former Miners Bank in Pittston for many years. He also worked in the local garment industry. He was a member of the ILGW Union.
He was a former member of St. Rocco’s Church, now St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.
Koobie always made the best of life and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Elizabeth, are a brother, Kevin Licata and his wife, Darlene, Archbald; nephew Kevin Charles Licata, Pittston Township; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Wilkes Barre General Hospital as well as to Bayada nurses for the compassionate care they provided to Koobie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 9:00am from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William Street, Pittston with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. The family asks that flowers be omitted.
